Exhibition: Topographies
June 9 - July 12, 2015
Minneapolis College of Art and Design
Topographies takes as its focus twenty-five artist books made by MCAD graduates that are part of the MCAD Library Artists’ Books Collection. This collection, which now exceeds 550, was established in the late 1970s with the acquisition of a group of photo books and multiples by some of the leading conceptual artists of the time. Over the decades the collection has expanded to include an array of formats, subjects and materials—ranging from hand crafted, finely printed books and photographic projects to rebus-like accordion-folded books and tiny zines.
